The IWG National Seminar 2016 will take place on Saturday 22 October and Sunday 23 October 2016 at the Glenroyal Hotel and Leisure Club in Maynooth, Co Kildare. This annual event is Ireland's premier showcase of woodturning from around the world, in a friendly and informal atmosphere. The backdrop to the seminar is the beautiful and historic university town of Maynooth, situated 30 minutes from the centre of Dublin.
Over the two day event, 40 demonstrations will take place offering something for woodturners of all skill levels. The line-up includes Jacques Vesery (USA), Glenn Lucas (Ireland), Joss Naigeon (France), Colwin Way (UK), Richard Kennedy (UK) and David O'Neill (Northern Ireland). The subject for this year's Chapter Challenge is a chess set and the highly coveted trophy is sure to be hotly contested. Since its inception eight years ago, this competition has achieved its aims in fostering collaboration and group work between members within IWG chapters. Each year the imagination, creative flair, skill, attention to detail and sheer hard work put into the Chapter Challenge make it the centrepiece of the weekend.
