Cressing Temple Barns - Wood Show F1    Cressing Temple Barns near Witham in Essex is a scheduled ancient monument. The site has its origins in the 12th century and is home to the two finest Templar barns in Europe, one of which, dating from 1205, is the oldest timber framed barn in the world. The site is made up of a group of remarkable farm buildings, the barns, a Templar well and a Tudor walled garden.

The European show is based in the historic barns, large marquees, the open cart sheds and open space. It is 90% wheelchair accessible (one first floor area).
A visitor attraction in it's own right and is beautifully managed by Essex County Council. It has a full programme of events running throughout the year from food fairs to medieval jousts. It is therefore a well serviced venue for The European Woodworking Show with plentiful car parking, an on site restaurant, gift shop, toilets etc. It is also wheelchair friendly See for further details of the venue.

Please note dogs are not allowed at Cressing Temple Barns,
either in the barns or in the grounds.

Irish Wood Turners Guild has the pleasure of demonstrating our wonderful craft again this year with C.C.O.I at Bloom in the park. If you feel you could assist us over the June bank holiday weekend May 31st to June 4th then we want to hear from you.

Demonstration’s will be small items like spinning tops, mushrooms, dibber’s, simple little bowls etc. No selling is involved at this event, we are selling the idea of wood turning and encouraging people to maybe take it up as a hobby etc. All the work we do is voluntary but we can promise you good fun.

CONTACT
If you fancy giving a hand then contact me as soon as you can so I can roster you in. We supply the lathe and the stand and then we need 4 people per day to demonstrate, promote, and look after the stand. Demonstrators will need to bring their own tools.
