Taking a step-by-step approach through your turning tools, Glenn Lucas demonstrates the tools in action, with excellent close-up camera work, filmed in high definition.

The footage echoes his successful classes and international demonstrations. It will help the beginner identify each of the basic turning tools and gain an understanding of how and where to use them.  It will also benefit the intermediate turner in refining their sharpening and tools skills.

Robert Sorby demonstration tour of Ireland with Clive Brooks in November and December

Clive will be demonstrating all the Robert Sorby favourites which include the Spiral and texturing system, Multi-tipped hollowing tools with its hollowing cutter, box cutter, scraper cutter and shear scraper cutter. Also there will be advice on sanding and finishing as well as tool care and sharpening with the ProEdge ultimate sharpening system.

New for this tour will be the Sovereign Ultima hollowing system. An innovative hollowing tool that cleanly cuts through wet or dry wood, end-grain and side-grain as well as open grain soft wood and close grain hard woods. When used in conjunction with the Sovereign interchangeable handle system the Ultima is the new word on every woodturners lips.

At the National Seminar, Dublin 15 Chapter Craobh Cuig Deag won the Vicmarc VL175 lathe. After struggling to get it down from Armagh, it last night got finally used in anger at its first Demo use.

Now they just need someone to clean it !
