Charity Fundraising and Auction

With no demonstrations, craft fairs or competitions since March, the executive committee have decided to organise an online charity auction with all proceeds going to the Irish Cancer Society (Republic of Ireland) and MacMillan Trust (Northern Ireland).

We are asking all members to make and donate pieces for the auction. The only criteria are that they must be well made and finished with no defects, unless they are incorporated in the design. Also, due to electrical regulations, we cannot accept lamps.

All items will be photographed, a description and a minimum price added and then displayed on an auction website hosted by The donors name can also be added (optional).

We are aiming to have the auction in the last week of November, in time for the Christmas market.

Arrangements will be made via the Chapters for collection of the items - our aim is to have all collected by end of October.

So, we encourage all to start making their pieces now. If you need any further details, feel free to contact any of the executive or chapter representatives - contact details in journal or on website.

COVID-19 and the Suspension of Chapter Meetings.
The IWG Executive has reviewed our position on this in the light of the changing Public Health advice, and have decided that suspension of face to face Chapter meetings and all other IWG face to face activities will remain in place.
This suspension applies to all Chapters regardless of size. The Executive feels it would be irresponsible to allow the resumption of physical meetings, and that the resulting risk to our members health and welfare would be far too great.
The IWG Executive will keep the matter under review and will issue further updates as required. In the meantime if you have any queries or concerns you can contact any Executive Committee member or you Regional Representative.
