Seminar Thank You Message

To Whom It May Concern.
On behalf of the IWG Executive committee, I would like to sincerely thank those people who attended and supported our seminar in any way and making it such a success. This year we were fortunate to have attendees from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, North Carolina, Germany, France, England, Scotland, and Wales and of course our own Irish delegates from North and South.
We hope that where ever you came from that you had an enjoyable and memorable time and will join us again at a future Seminar.

I would like to thank our demonstrators John Boyne-Aitken, Jason Breach, Clive Brooks, Alan Lacer, Vivien Grandouiller, Franz Keilhofer, Paul Howard and Alan Meredith for providing skills, tips and ideas for the delegates over the two days.

And finally I wish to thank the trades-stands that sponsored the raffle and prizes to us.
The Carpentry Store, The Woodshed, The Hut, Robert Sorby, Trend, Hope Woodturning, Killinger, Strahan Timbers, Stanley Raitt and McQuillan Tools

Best Regards,
Willie Creighton

RDS Craft Awards Open for Online Entries on March 20 – Deadline: June 14

Over €30,000 in prizes for 2017 RDS Craft Awards

Showcasing and rewarding excellence in Irish craft since 1968, the RDS Craft Awards is a two strand open competition with an independent panel of craft experts assessing the work of emerging and established craftspeople separately.

The top prize winners in each strand will receive the RDS Awards of Excellence which come with a cash prize of €5,000. Ten category prize winners in both emerging and established maker strands will receive €500 sponsored by the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland. There are also many other prizes on offer including a €2,000 award specifically for graduates and a free stand for an emerging maker at the 2017 National Crafts & Design Fair worth €2,500.

With categories ranging from woodturning and jewellery, to furniture, ceramics and textiles, the Awards are an important celebration of indigenous design and endeavour, and follow an RDS tradition of promoting and supporting the development of Irish craft which dates back to the nineteenth century.

Winning and selected entries will be shown at the RDS Craft Awards Exhibition which will be exhibited prior to and during the 2017 Dublin Horse Show August 9-13. Award winners will be exhibited at the National Crafts & Design Fair, RDS, in December, 2017.
